GENERAL MEETING INFORMATION

  • What is the NextGen Seminar?
    The NextGen seminar is geared toward younger funeral professionals, as well as those new to the profession, to infuse energy, inspiration and motivation to these up-and-coming leaders.

  • When is the 2025 NextGen Seminar being held?
    January 26 - 30, 2025

  • Do I have to be a member of Selected to attend the NextGen Seminar?
    As always, non-members are welcome to register and participate in continuing education sessions. We do, however, keep specific members-only sessions as noted in the agenda. Non-members can contact meetings@selectedfuneralhomes.org for more information and to obtain the registration form for non-members desiring CE.

  • Do I have to be a NextGen Community member to attend the NextGen Seminar?
    Although the NextGen Community is defined as those who are under the age of 50 or new to funeral service, all members are welcome to register and participate in the NextGen Seminar. Because the NextGen Seminar offers continuing education, we are required to open CE sessions to non-members of Selected.

  • Who is the Program Sponsor for the NextGen Seminar?
    Selected is grateful to the generous support of Kelco for providing continued sponsorship and making resources available to offer the NextGen Seminar.

  • Will the NextGen Seminar be available both in-person and via a virtual format?
    Upon review of feedback provided by the NextGen Community, the preferred format for the Seminar is in person. Selected will not be providing a virtual component, but the meeting archive webpage will be updated with meeting information after the event.

MEETING AND HOTEL INFORMATION


  • How do I register for the NextGen Seminar?
    Online registration for members will be accessible on Selected’s NextGen Seminar landing page or by clicking here.
  • Are there registration fees for the 2025 NextGen Seminar and what does it include?
    Registration fees for the first participant from a firm is $825 (after December 9, 2024, the price is $875) and each additional participant is $595. Registration includes admission to meeting sessions, beverage hospitality during meeting sessions and Welcome Reception/Dinner on Sunday, January 26.

  • Is there an Early Bird rate to register?
    Participants who register on or before December 9, 2024 will receive the Early Bird first rate of $825. After December 9, 2024, the rate is $875. Each additional participant from the same firm can register at a rate of $595 at any time.


  • How do I book a reservation at the hotel?
    Selected's specially negotiated rate of $248/night (run of house rooms) at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort is available until December 9, 2024, or until our room block fills (whichever comes first. Members are strongly encouraged to book a reservation as soon as possible for best availability. Once our room block fills, the hotel will determine if rooms are available and at what rate.

  • What is the refund policy if I cancel or can’t participate in the 2025 NextGen Seminar?
    If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to send a substitute. Simply email meetings@selectedfuneralhomes.org or call 800-323-4219 to provide the name and email address of the substitute. Cancellation of registration received prior to December 19, 2024 will result in a full refund, less a service charge of $100. Selected regrets that refunds will not be given for no-shows or cancellations after February 7, 2025. Any requests for exceptions to the cancellation/refund policy must be submitted in writing by the registrant with appropriate documentation no later than February 7, 2025. After that time, no refund considerations will be made.

  • How do non-Selected members register for the NextGen Seminar?
    Non-members can contact meetings@selectedfuneralhomes.org for more information and to obtain the registration form for non-members desiring CE.

EDUCATION


  • How many continuing education credits can I qualify for?
    Selected has applied for 8.0 hours of continuing education credit to the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice and all states requiring CE. For a list of approvals received, click here.

    NOTE: Selected does not make application to Canadian Provinces for continuing education credit. However, Selected can provide a letter verifying attendance at the meeting as well as the application submitted to the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice for individual use if desired.


  • Do I get CE credits if I only participate in a few sessions?
    It is the participant’s responsibility to confirm that the session(s) has been approved by your state and/or that your state offers CE credit for individual sessions. Some states require attendance in the entire meeting to receive credit and do not award partial credit.

  • When will I be able to access session content after the NextGen Seminar is over (slides, handouts, etc.)?
    As at previous NextGen Seminars, available slides, handouts and other materials will be available on the NextGen Archives in the weeks following the meeting conclusion.
