As a member of Selected Independent Funeral Homes, your firm has access to music licensing with ASCAP, BMI and SESAC at the same rate paid by members of the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA). Through its participation in the Funeral and Memorialization Information Council (FAMIC), Selected provides its members the opportunity to obtain the necessary music licensing at the lowest renewal price available. This represents a significant discount over licensing directly with the music agencies.

Music licensing is the law, and failure to obtain a license where one is required can be very costly. Copyright law provides for damages with fines of up to $30,000 for each song infringed. Regardless of the size of your firm, if you host performances of copyrighted music, whether performed live or played from recordings, the law says you are legally required to obtain an annual music license.

Please note that NFDA has included the music license renewal form with its annual dues renewal invoice. If your firm has already renewed its music license directly with NFDA, there is no need to submit an additional application form provided by Selected.
