Taupo, and its legendary lake, is a unique New Zealand town whose birth started on the volcanic slopes. This is a place rich and steeped in spiritual and cultural history in the coming of the Maori. Lake Taupo began its dreamy watery beginnings with a volcanic eruption in 186 AD. This enormous eruption blew a 660 square metre hole in the earth sending ash into the atmosphere so high and so far the Chinese and Romans recorded these fiery red skies. The venue, the elegant Hilton Lake Taupo hotel, is located on the the Napier Taupo Highway, just minutes from the town center and 15 minutes from the Taupo airport and features sweeping views over the lake and Tongariro National Park.

The next meeting in Australia is in Canberra, Nov. 10-15. Planning is underway to stay at the Clifton Suites on Northbourne, having apartment style accommodation. The Wednesday evening of the 10th will be an opening night dinner. Attendance at the Remembrance Day ceremony at the Australian War Memorial will occur on Thursday. Local sight seeing trips, dinner functions and meeting agendas will be organised at a later date.
